1- initial position black object is stationary and red object is moving

it was possible to attract inkha’s attention for a period of time by vigorous waving but tracking often moved in the wrong direction
this was caused by the shadow effect of background objects when the camera moved

2 - camera moves towards red moving target

3 - when the camera compares previous and current frames to detect movement the movement (shown here in yellow) of the stationary object appears greater than the movement of the target so inkha turns back towards the stationary target

this problem is overcome by settle time, which was added after these experiments were made

attention was often drawn to fluorescent lights and monitor screens, which could be seen on the sensor module interface to be sources of constant movement

the boredom threshold was fixed at 50 at this time and boredom cycles never executed unless the cameras were turned off

turning blinking on made tracking of a waving hand impossible
